Even in the 21st Century there are still some hold-outs who have to have their "Meat 'N' Potatoes"
This cookbook is dedicated to them.
Rose, you're very welcome. My mother-in-law did something similar with leftover dressing. She made it into patties and fried it--very yummy, but I like your idea even better. And guess what? I have a plate exactly like the one in your picture. Got a set of them (Corelle ware) for my wedding back in 1973! LOL.
Ellen: Thank you so much for the positive feedback. When I started my website, a year ago tomorrow, I was lost as last year's Easter egg and could find no one to help me set it up or explain the do's and don'ts. I would be happy to help you in any way I can. Ronda
I purchased the hard copy. I love to see and touch the pages as opposed to downloading! It still makes us happy as it is 'instant gratification' which is totally in my vocabulary...............lol
Ohhh Ellen, I am really glad I got you thinking...Great Dads should totally be rewarded and honored..Good for you Ellen!
I also am looking forward to my challenge for others! These recipes surely need recognition and I am willing to put my money where my mouth is!! Good luck Ellen...I will be watching! :) Good job...
Susan, you made my day! Or should I say night? I am so happy that my cookbook brought back such wonderful memories of your dad. And now you've got me thinking, what could I do to honor MY dad? I've already used a number of my mother's recipes in these pages. But I could certainly come up with a few of my dad's favorite dishes. They've both been gone a long, long time. And I've already decided to purchase some of my own cookbooks containing those old family recipes for my siblings for Christmas this year. I think it will bring a smile to their faces.
Thanks again, Susan, for your high praise and kind words!
Ellen, thank you so much for including my Dad's recipe in your cookbook. I can visualize him now...he would have had a huge grin and then would have become very humble. He was a perfect Dad and Husband. I can't thank you enough because you have really honored him through my posting and yours. I am smiling because of it and very proud.
I am ever so grateful and thank you! I am going to purchase your cookbook because, yes, Dad and his honor, but also because you created a wonderful cookbook. I love LOVE the recipes you chose. I will actually do this for you because I truly believe it. I am going to "Challenge" you all to purchase Ellen's cookbook; What an honor!
Good Luck Ellen, I am with you!! Good job and again thank you soooo much.! Your awesome!
Oh, Ronda, I am impressed! Wow--I can see I'm going to be a regular visitor to your website. And I may be asking your advice too. I've just cut my hours at work and will be having more time on my hands and I've been thinking about creating something similar for my recipes, my short stories, and maybe my knitting patterns. I'll let you know when I'm ready and maybe we can put our heads together. And you are so welcome for the Fried Green Tomato mention.
Ellen: I am so flattered that you included my Fried Green Tomato recipe in your cookbook. I humbly invite you to check out my website at www.allthingshomerelated.com. Once again, thank you for the feature. Ronda
