scalloped potatoes & pork chops
I used to make only scalloped potatoes and ham but one day I asked myself what would happen if I used pork chops instead of ham. The results were amazingly good, so now I alternate between the two.

Ingredients
- 6-8 large potatoes
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 4 - boneless pork chops
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 1/2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
How To Make scalloped potatoes & pork chops

Step 1Pare potatoes and slice thin; coat pork chops with small amount of flour and brown on both sides in oil in a large skillet.

Step 2In a medium saucepan, melt butter; add flour, salt and pepper, and minced onion. Mix with melted butter till thickened. Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly. Keep stirring until it starts to thicken.

Step 3Place potatoes in Dutch oven or large baking dish. Pour half of white sauce over them. Place pork chops on top. Cover with remaining white sauce.

Step 4Bake, covered, in a 350-degree oven for 1 hour. Remove lid and bake another 30 minutes.

Step 5You may also add 4 to 8 ounces of cheddar cheese to the white sauce while it is hot.
