Ingredients

  • 1 package extra wide egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup cooking water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package fully cooked pork sausage links, cut into 1
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 - 16 oz packages sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 - granny smith apple, cored & chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • - salt, to taste

How To Make sausage, noodles 'n sauerkraut

  • Step 1
    Cook noodles according to package directions; drain, reserving 1/2 C cooking water.
  • Step 2
    Meanwhile, in large skillet, melt butter over medium high heat. Add sausage & onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned & onion is tender, about 8 - 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add sauerkraut, apple, butter, marjoram & pepper; cook stirring, until sauerkraut is browned & apple is tender, about 4 - 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Stir in noodles & reserved cooking water. Cook until heated through, about 1 - 2 minutes. Season with salt.
