A little bit off the beaten path from ordinary meatloaf. Great taste. Leftovers are great for sandwiches.

Ingredients For ellen's round meatloaf

  • 2 lb
    ground chuck
  • 1 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 c
    soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c
    chopped celery
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 can
    8 oz. tomato sauce

How To Make ellen's round meatloaf

  • 1
    Combine meat, 1 cup of the cheese, bread crumbs, celery, onion, egg and seasonings; mix lightly. Shape into 9-inch round loaf in a shallow baking dish--I use 9x13.

    Bake at 350 for 1 hour; pour off drippings.

    Pour tomato sauce over meatloaf; top with remaining cheese. Continue baking 15 minutes.

    Let meatloaf stand 5 minutes before slicing.
