Another one of my loves!!
BLACK WALNUTS...
In Indiana we had two
BLACK WALNUT TREES!!
I used them to hang my clothes line on them.
One gal asked me ..what is a clothes line for! LOL!!!
I told her to hang washed clothes on!
Her answer was..that's what a dryer is for....
DUH!!!! I am still laughing..
Great to dry flannel (cloth)diapers on...
Back then I had a brand new electric winger washer from SEARS.
Before that I had a wash tub with a scrub board!
We heated our water on the coal stove..to put in the wash tub!
I wonder if she will ask me..
What's a scrub board!!!!....LOL
I remember Grandma made her own soap!!! with lye.
We have come a long way baby!!!
BEFORE you ask...
I never had to wash clothes in the creek,
and pound clothes with rocks!
When Clothes "lines" were the bushes!
Back to BLACK WALNUTS..
Think I will go crack some...
where is my hammer??????........HUGS ma .. 6/1/13

Thank you Ma, that is so sweet of you. Thanks for including those recipes too. What's not to love about lemon. Thanks again. I hope to post my Black Walnut Masterpiece sometimes today. Haven't really decided on a name yet. But it fills my 30 cup capacity Bundt Pan, and came all the way to the top of the pan. Took two different mixing bowls to put together, but I think it is going to be amazing, I will see once I cut it, and have a taste. I baked it last night, still need to do the frosting and decoration. Boy was it a task, but WELL WORTH ALL THE EFFORTS AND ALL THE MESSED UP DISHES. SMILE Thanks again Ma, and have a great weekend.

What a wonderful collection of Lemon Desserts. I love all types of Lemon desserts, and this books gives you enough to make for a couple of months without making the same thing twice.

Great book Ma, and thanks for including one of my recipes.
