I learned to cook when I was 8 years old. After following my Mom around the kitchen, she finally let me cook. My first meal was a pork roast with potatoes and carrots. Although Mom had to drive me to the store for the next few years, she pretty much let me do the cooking while she supervised. When I turned 16 and could drive, I would plan the meals, and she would sign a blank check and off I went to do the shopping. Mom was a school teacher, and I think she was glad when I took over the kitchen duties. I have loved cooking ever since that first meal I made!
