Brenda there is nothing more rewarding than having a loving family. You did what was best for you at the time. It paid off because you are still married. smile

That is so nice that your daughter trained to become a Flight Attendant. I was hired as a junior attendant before marrying my husband in 1979, but even though I was hired, and they were going to train me from a Junior Flight Attendant to Flight Attendant, I decided I wanted to settle down and marry instead. I still remember them measuring me for sewing me an Attendant suit that I was going to be wearing on flights. This was at Eastern Airlines, and back in 70's. After marrying, I ended up working as a ticket agent for the airlines. Many of my co-workers became hired as Flight Attendants by being hired in-house. I still won't try to become hired, since I love being with my family full time..lol. But, I love the job or career too. Thank you for letting me know about the coupons...I will have to shop more on Kohl's...also, I know about paying them off too, since I've had to do that several times. It is so easy to purchase items from their online store by using their credit on their site, at least it was for me, especially using their coupons. :-)

Kohl's still has lots of coupons I think. I too love their cooking section at both Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond. I have bought a few items from them on line from time to time. Now I am trying to get out of their debt, My daughter needed a lot of things while she was in training for to become a Flight Attendant, so I am still paying that off. Have a nice evening.

I love the Norman Rockwell types of towns too. Yes, my husband and myself have been married since 1979, but we dated five years before marrying. We never lived together during those five years, so marriage was something we both yearned for and loved. Looking back, those years accumulated so fast. I agree, it does pay to shop around first! I love shopping at Kohl's, especially on their online store, since they use to have so many coupons, but not so sure if they still do or not, but their coupons were usually 20-50% and they could be found on the first page of their online site...they go by typing in a code during checkouts. Also, I will check out your blueberry muffin recipe, it does sound delicious! I purchased some of my items, especially the Kitchen Aid mixer attachments from either Bed, Bath, and Beyond, or, Kohl's. :-)

Brenda I knew there was something about us, I was married in 1979 the first time, but it only lasted a year, I should have waited. smile Then after that fiasco, I waited until 2005 before doing it again. Yes I love my KITCHEN AID, IT IS AWESOME, although I do use my hand mixer sometimes if I am making a small batch of muffins or something. Rose Mary's Fresh Blueberry Muffins something that is real simple and quick. I bet you loved being able to get a lot of use from your Christmas gift before Christmas.

I would love to have one with color but for now, I will just continue to use this one since it still works. Perhaps this year we may get to go visit the Kitchen Aid Store. One year we went to TASTE OF HOME, and I loved it, came back with so many wonderful bargain cookbooks from their Bargain Basement. It looks like a NORMAL ROCKWELL KIND OF TOWN, all the beautiful flower gardens and pretty white fences. We at in their restaurant, it was really nice.

Yes my husband knows me, and knows that I only like getting practical gifts that I know I can and will use, especially items for the kitchen and has to do with cooking. I found my first ever SQUARE SPRING FORM CHEESECAKE PAN at Kohls some years ago, I love it. So it always pays to shop around.

Rose, I use to shop on Kohls.com a lot, but lately have been shopping on Amazon. But, is true, I did get a great deal on my Kitchen Aid mixer. It was something I have wanted to purchase for many years, or since I was was married (1979), and FINALLY could manage to do so. My sons and husband got it for me as pre Christmas gift...lol...I so wanted to use it before Christmas...wanted to make those many different delicious breads and cookies, in which I did, and it really did a great job.

It sounds like you are very sentimental about your mixer, which I can't blame you if so! I was going to let you know also that I think White would be very pretty sitting on top of a kitchen counter too. Also, I think it would be safer to have to un-plug before taking anything out, or especially un-doing the beaters. I think you would enjoy going to the Kitchen Aid company...I know I would love going there too!

Wow you really did get a steal. I love the Buttercup yellow, actually the wall in my kitchen is a slight variation of that color, it is a more pale yellow. Kitchen Aid are the best in my opinion. I agree with you, I bet it does add a ray of sunshine to your kitchen each morning. Should I get another one, I have no idea what color I would get. The only reason I would get another one is that this one the HEAD DOES NOT LIFT UP, you must twist the beater counter clock wise to release the beater, my husband didn't know about that at the time he bought it, and now the on and off switch has a short in it, It stays on, and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it.

I could send it back but just haven't because I use it so much. The kitchen Aid company is in Indiana, not too far from Us, and I wanted to go there one year but we never got around to going. Take care You really got a phenominal bargain.

Rose Mary, so nice that you have had your Kitchen Aid for almost twenty years! I purchased the professional KA due to it is suppose to be made out of metal (interior), and I wanted one that is more like the old fashion ones that my mother and grandmother use to have in their kitchens...the ones I use to love playing with when I was around six years old (play cook with supervision). I think they are a power horse, since they do so many things that my hands or energy can not do, especially now, due to aging. I love your picture of the bread..it looks fresh, soft, and delicious..I bet it was! Thank you for the recipe for the bread. I think that was so nice your husband got you the mixer as a Christmas present...that does mean he was very serious, yes indeed! They are very expensive machines. But, if mine were to break or something, which I don't think it would, but, I would go get me another one...lol! The reason why mine is a butter yellow color, is due to my first one's hinge breaking off during my first year 100% warranty. My first mixer was a drab blue color, and it actually made my kitchen look drabby..lol. But, after calling the KA company and letting them know about the breakage (hinge that holds pan), they said there were no more blue color ones, so they let me have my pick of other colors. I asked her what she thought of the prettier colors, and she mentioned her favorite was a buttercup yellow color...so I told her to ship that one to me. I didn't even care much for yellow then, but I let her ship it to me, since I had a good feeling about it. After setting it up on my kitchen counter, it was like someone turned on the lights in my kitchen, since it actually made it brighter! I fell in love with that color of yellow, since it is very beautiful to me. I have it sitting next to my kitchen window, and every morning I go into my kitchen, it is so bright and cheery, and the sunlight looks so lovely bouncing on it from the window. She was right about the color being very lovely...but it is only the buttercup yellow, such as my mixer color, of yellow's that I like (only due to my mixer). Mine was purchased after Thanksgiving Day (on black friday) from an online Kohls store....it was marked 50% down due to BF, but I also had a coupon that reduced it another 20%...I got a steal..I couldn't believe they would allow me to use both BF reduction plus my coupon of 20%, but they did, and the shipping was free too...so I was lucky! I purchased it 2007.

I love mine too Brenda, and believe it or not it was one of the gifts I got from my husband back in 1995, our FIRST CHRISTMAS of dating , we were not yet married. I loved it so much I cried when I opened the box, because I knew how expensive they were, and at the time I just didn't think he loved me that much. smile, so now here it is almost 20 years later, and it is still going strong. I also got a second Stainless steel bowl with mine and it was engraved with my name on it & the year. They really are nice, and I would hate to be without mine. I love it for making Breads too. Kitchen Aid French Bread Loaf

His mom told me at the time he was investing in our future, so he knew exactly what he was doing. We had a big laugh about it. So now I see that she was right, because I am still using it almost 20 years later. I have gotten lots of use from it over the years.

Love my Professional Kitchen Aid Mixer...I notice you have one too...mine is a butter yellow color. They are so nice to own, since they help with making so many things that recipe's call for, such as, lots of dough for breads, and making lots of mashed potato's, and cakes, etc...so nice.
