I have raised a large family and learned to cook for the masses - you know, make it from scratch, and if company showed up unexpectedly, add a cup of water to the soup or divide it like you were feeding the 5,000 with the loaves and the fishes. I'm a can do, make do kind of gal. Whether it cooking, kids, or crafts - I've learned to make what I have go farther and taste better than what I can buy already prepared. I love to see that there is a return to that type of thinking nowadays. I raised 16 children, 12 of my own, and several nieces and nephews. There was never a dull moment.
