I grew up in Memphis, TN. I come from a family of hard workers, good cooks, farmers, railroad workers, mom ‘n pop business owners, and people of strong Christian faith. I learned to cook as a camping skill in the Boy Scouts. I spent 20 years in the Navy living in places around the US and on islands in the Pacific Ocean. I was able to enjoy the foods from many cultures and I now include many of them in my cooking. My wife, Anita, and I have celebrated 48 years together. We have a daughter and two grandchildren.
