I grew up in Philadelphia where I was raised on cheese steaks, soft pretzels, hoagies, and Pennsylvania Dutch sticky buns. A writer, editor, and designer, I have been creating in the kitchen and at the typewriter for fifty years, and in the studio and darkroom for twenty-five.
I was the 1983 Maine Chicken-Cooking Champion. I won the state contest and was privileged to compete in the nationals in the chicken capital of the US, Birmingham, Alabama. My food column, "A Cook's Journal," appears twice a month in the local paper. My blog, acooksjournalblog.wordpress.com, launched in May, 2014.
