My Dad is American Indian and was raised in Texas and New Mexico. My Mom is German and Irish and was raised in Kentucky and Southern Ohio. Both of my parents shared the cooking. (The big difference was that my Mom liked her kitchen to herself and my Dad made sure to drag me into it with him.)
With that said, it's obvious I was raised in a very versatile food oriented home. We were served everything from Enchilada's, BBQ everything, Bean and Ham Hocks to Southern fried chicken and fried okra.
I, like most... think my parents were the best cooks ever! I am grateful for their teachings.
