grandma's easy one pot macaroni dinner

This recipe was handed down from my Mom's Mother. It really didn't have a name but it is the best tasting easy dish ever!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds barilla elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 6 cans (10 3/4 oz) tomato soup
  • 2 medium sweet onions, chopped
  • 1 pound good smoked bacon, fried and crumbled
  • 5 cans water (use empty soup cans)
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • - salt & pepper

How To Make grandma's easy one pot macaroni dinner

  • Step 1
    In 6 Qt. pot, sauté bacon until crispy. Remove, let cool a bit, crumble and set aside leaving bacon grease in pot. Add chopped onion to pot and sauté until transparent. Remove onions and drain excess grease from pot.
  • Step 2
    Combine in pot, onions, crumbled bacon, cooked macaroni, tomato soup, water, salt & pepper & parsley. Stir and simmer on medium heat for 30 minutes or until the macaroni starts to absorb the soup. Remove from heat and let stand for 15-20 minutes to thicken a bit.
