Banana Breakfast Ideas

Banana Breakfast Ideas

Bananas are one of my favorite fruits. I love to slice them into my cereal or oatmeal for a simple breakfast. But, if I have some that are just ripe and I feel like making a larger meal, these are great banana breakfast ideas.

“When my children were small, I adapted the ingredients from one of my favorite muffin recipes to make these yummy pancakes,” explains Jamie Wyatt (Fayetteville, GA) on how she came up with her Banana Pineapple Chocolate Chip Pancakes. “They’ve been a favorite ever since!”

Very sweet and tropical, chocolate chips are a perfect touch to these pancakes. Kids and adults will love this breakfast treat. I’ve tried them with and without syrup. Both are great… but if I had to choose one, I’d go with just butter.

If you want a more traditional pancake (that still spotlights banana), try Grishma Shah’s (Nashville, TN) Brown Butter Banana Pancakes. They are tender, melt in your mouth, and full of cinnamon and banana flavor.

Browning the butter and then cooking the mashed banana in the browned butter makes a rich, fluffy banana pancake.

They’re delicious by themselves, but adding fruit and nuts makes them festive. A drizzle of maple syrup is fantastic.

Are waffles your favorite breakfast? Then check out Linda Smith’s (Oelwein, IA) Banana Nut Waffles.

Linda’s husband didn’t eat his bananas, so she tweaked her favorite recipe and came up with these delicious waffles.

They are everything a waffle should be… light, fluffy, and a little crisp on the outside. Top with sweetened whipped cream, fresh bananas, and walnuts for a beautiful breakfast plate.

Jessica Dayon’s (Schnecksville, PA) Peanut Butter Banana French Toast is so good it could be dessert.

“I whipped this up on a whim as a special treat for us and my older daughter,” reveals Jessica. “It was so delicious! I can’t wait to make it again.”

I am always blown away by the wonderful flavors in this French toast. The warm and creamy peanut butter melts in your mouth and pairs nicely with the bananas. With hints of vanilla and cinnamon, the bread layer is crispy. Yum!

With a gooey caramel nut topping, Laurie Lenartowicz’s (Livingston, TN) Banana Nut Sticky Buns For Bread Maker is a delicious and easy sticky bun recipe.

“They are incredibly good topped with nuts and a maple caramel glaze,” thinks Laurie. “The only problem is that you won’t be able to stop eating them!”

The buns themselves are light, fluffy, and filled with banana, raisin, cinnamon, and caramel flavors. Topping the sticky buns with crunchy nuts is a yummy combination. Using a bread machine makes preparing this sweet treat a breeze.
