I was taught to cook by two incredible women - my grandmother and my mother. Nothing fancy - just incredibly good Southern food. I was baking pound cakes and snickerdoodles from scratch at the tender age of 6, won a third place ribbon at the county fair for my Apple/Walnut cake at the age of 9, and had mastered cream gravy by the time I was 12. I love the challenge of complicated recipes but I prefer to cook simply, keeping my Grandmother's and Mother's Southern roots and traditions alive through me.
