Grill a Special Meal for Father’s Day

Slice of pineapple pound cake

I have fond memories of my dad standing over the grill during the summer preparing a feast for the family. This Father’s Day, I plan to take over grilling duties from my husband and prepare a fantastic grilled meal. If you want to pick up the tongs, too, then check out these recipes.

Cheryl Culver’s (Coyle, OK) Brats & Beer On The Grill is such an easy way to cook your brats. It’s so much better than buying them pre-cooked at the supermarket.

“Here’s a great delicious way to cook up those bratwursts when you want a really tasty bratwurst,” says Cheryl. Top with your favorite toppings and you have the perfect brat.

Boiling the brats in beer and veggies adds tons of flavor. After being grilled, the skin is nice and crisp and the inside was warm and juicy.

“This is a summer favorite of mine,” explains Aurora McBee (Great Falls, MT) about her Grilled Steak Kabobs. “I also frequently make these while we’re camping.”

Marinating the meat and veggies overnight is what gives these babies a lot of flavor. The meat becomes super tender and the veggies are delicious. Super simple, dad will love these.

Oh so smoky and full of flavor, Denny Keller’s (Covington, LA) Papa’s Grilled Chicken With a Twist is fantastic.

“Can’t cook it fast enough,” jokes Denny. “They wait in line!”

One bite and I can see why. The sauce is sweet and tangy with a slight kick. It’s the perfect complement to the chicken. The skin gets slightly caramelized and crisp. Inside the meat remains moist.

For a side, Natalie Loop’s (Hudson, MI) Zucchini and Tomatoes Foil Packets will be a great addition to your menu.

“My second favorite after zucchini boats,” reveals Natalie. This is a delicious way to create a zucchini side dish with all the extra zucchini and tomatoes from the garden.

The flavor from the garlic and basil infuses into the zucchini and tomato slices. We love the bit of salty Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. So good!

Christa Arwood’s (Harriman, TN) Grilled Pineapple Pound Cake is a great warm-weather dessert.

“My sister cannot get enough of this,” shares Christa. “Anytime I am grilling you better believe she is asking if I am making this for dessert.”

Grilling brings out the sweetness of the pineapple and adds a bit of smoky flavor. The brown sugar caramelizes on the pineapple and is so yummy. Very simple and delicious!

Fire up the grill this Father’s Day and prepare a meal for any dad in your life. If you want more grilling recipes, check out our Grilling Favorites collection for more ideas. Happy Pinching!
