I love vegetables but am not good at making them in a healthy way. I decided that my rice cooker/steamer might be the way to cook them. I have been making them this way for years now and can't imagine them being any better. It is great for the busy cook, just pop them in the steamer and leave them alone.

prep time 20 Min
cook time 45 Min
method Steam
yield 6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1/3 - cabbage head, i like green cabbage
  • 3 medium new potatoes
  • 3 cups carrots
  • 2 - yellow squash
  • 1/2 - onion, chopped

How To Make steamed vegetables

  • Step 1
Cut all vegetables into cubes or medium chunks. (Note: Use what ever vegetables you like. I vary it with corn, green beans, etc. Place in a rice cooker/steamer. Add 4 cups of water. Salt and pepper to taste.
