My grandparents were Cajun and came to Texas from Lafayette, LA in the early 1900's when the oil boom hit.
My mother and her siblings were born in Texas but kept a lot of the Cajun traditions alive in the family. They spoke French, but did not teach us children as they used that language to talk behind our backs.
From the love of family and tradition came my love of cooking. I learned a lot from my mother and grandmother and associate big family dinners with love and fun.
I love to try new things and share my family recipes with others. Enjoy!
