Stove Top


  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef or italian sausage
  • 1 small
    onion, chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 can(s)
    14.5 oz. diced tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 small
    can tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper or red pepper flakes.
  • 2 1/2 c
    bow tie pasta, uncooked
  • 1-1 1/2 c
    ricotta cheese or small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese, shredded or grated

How to Make Bow Tie Lasagna (Stove Top)


  1. Cook ground beef, onion, and garlic. Drain if necessary.
  2. Add tomatoes, water, tomato paste, sugar, salt and pepper.
  3. Stir in uncooked pasta and bring to a full boil; then reduce heat to a simmer.
  4. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Combine ricotta (or cottage cheese) and parmesan cheese. Drop by tablespoon onto pasta mixture. Sprinkle with parsley , cover and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Top with additional parmesan or mozzarella, if desired.
