This is one of my Grandmothers recipes that can be changed to a lemon, or pineapple, or orange frosting by just a few simple changes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter at room temp.
  • 3 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cream or evaropated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make grandma delleplain butter frosting

  • Step 1
    Soften butter to room temp, and cream in remaining ingredients and continue creaming until mixture is well blended and fluffey.
  • Step 2
    This will cover the top and sides of two ( 8" ) layer cakes.
  • Step 3
    For LEMON FROSTING : add 1/2 teaspoon graded lemon rind and use lemon juice instead of vanilla.
  • Step 4
    For PINEALLLE FROSTING : use 1/3 cup crushed pineapple with juice instead of cream.
  • Step 5
    For ORANGR FROSTING : add 1 tablespoon grated orange rind and use orange juice instead of cream.
