I have enjoyed cooking from the time I was in school. My teacher was my mother.
All of her recipes were in her head. Only on rare occasions did I see her use a recipe card or book. If you asked her how much of this or that to put in a cake or casserole, her answer was always the same..."a little bit of this and a little bit of that.." never really revealing anything more.
I have a super large collection of recipes I have collected over the years and I always study them and try and make them my own by either adding or deleting ingredients.
