I grew up in Atlanta and one of my favorite lunches .. Cashins. They had the best! French onion. I was addicted by age 7 along with the spinach salad that was very much like the one my Grammy made. Served with a chunk of apple pie and Greenfield cinnamon ice cream ???? This is close to their recipe . Mom somehow got it from them . I tweeked A bit with adding rosemary and red pepper. This like cocka leekie are fantastic healing soups. The power of onion garlic herbs and bone broth or stocks! And the crunchy bread and gooy cheese .. Oh yea! And be patient with onion.
