quick energy candy
This is from a scrap of paper I must have cut out of a newspaper a few decades ago. Probably from the Edith Adams Cottage section of the Vancouver Sun.

Makes about 4 dozen slices
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups quick cooking oats (not instant)
- 1 cup flaked coconut
How To Make quick energy candy

Step 1Pour half of the brown sugar, raisins, and chocolate pieces into a blender container; blend at high speed for 5 seconds. Pour into a bowl.

Step 2Repeat for remaining brown sugar, raisins and chocolate pieces.

Step 3Add butter; cream well. Add oats. Mix until smooth. Shape into 4 logs; roll logs in coconut. Wrap and chill for two hours.

Step 4Cut into 1/2 inch slices to serve. Store in a cool place.
