This is from a scrap of paper I must have cut out of a newspaper a few decades ago. Probably from the Edith Adams Cottage section of the Vancouver Sun.

Ingredients For quick energy candy

  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    raisins
  • 1/4 c
    semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 c
    quick cooking oats (not instant)
  • 1 c
    flaked coconut

How To Make quick energy candy

  • 1
    Pour half of the brown sugar, raisins, and chocolate pieces into a blender container; blend at high speed for 5 seconds. Pour into a bowl.

    Repeat for remaining brown sugar, raisins and chocolate pieces.

    Add butter; cream well. Add oats. Mix until smooth. Shape into 4 logs; roll logs in coconut. Wrap and chill for two hours.

    Cut into 1/2 inch slices to serve. Store in a cool place.
