This looks like an easy way to make pickles without needing to can them.

6 c
cucumbers, sliced thin
1 large
onion, sliced thin
2 Tbsp
pickling salt
1 c
1 c
white vinegar
2 clove
garlic, minced
3 Tbsp
dill seed
1/2 tsp
crushed red pepper

How to Make Freezer Dills


  • 1In a large bowl, combine cucumbers and onion. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the salt over the vegetables; let stand for 2 hours. Rinse under cold water, drain well.
  • 2In a large glass bowl, combine sugar, vinegar, garlic, dill seed, and red pepper. Stir well to dissolve sugar. Add cucumbers and onion. Combine.
  • 3Pack into freezer containers and store in freezer. Defrost in refrigerator at least 8 hours before serving.
