A lot of people do not like the "slimy" okra. If you rinse this well then cook as directed it come out moist, caramelized and not slimy. It will slime up as it cooks but it will cook out. I think the only thing to make this better would be the addition of some diced up bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    okra, fresh sliced in rounds
  • 3 clove
    garlic minced
  • 2
    serrano chili peppers seeded and diced
  • 2 Tbsp
    avocado oil
  • 2 Tbsp
    coconut oil
  • 1/4 c
    dry vermouth
  • ·
    salt and pepper

How to Make Sautéed Okra

Step-by-Step

  1. Clean, slice and rinse okra well
  2. Add oil to skillet, add garlic and cook to flavor oil
  3. Add okra and Serrano pepper, sauté until it starts to carmelize
  4. Salt and pepper to taste
  5. Add vermouth cook until liquid has absorbed
