Basil Vinaigrette Dressing

It just doesn't get any better than this! It makes a great marinade also.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt
    salad oil
  • 2
    shallots, quartered
  • 1 lg
    clove garlic, halved
  • 3 Tbsp
    balsamic vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp
    creole mustard
  • 1/3 c
    honey
  • 15
    basil leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp
    black pepper, freshly cracked
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper, or to taste

How To Make

  • 1
    Place all ingredients in food processor except oil and turn on.
  • 2
    Slowly drizzle oil to emulsify. Check for seasoning and adjust if needed.
