This recipe is very quick and easy.Almost better than the original store bought. This combination of ingredients makes 3 pints and will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks , but will keep in the freezer for 6 months. The one in the freezer may be a little grainy but will smooth out during it's use. Try it out- especially good for use during the holidays. Saves a lot of $-moola-$.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups super fine sugar
  • 1 cup non fat dry milk (powdered)
  • 12 ounces can evaporated milk like carnation or pet
  • 6 tablespoons butter

How To Make sweetened condensed milk - homemade

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring just to a boil, but do not boil. Just heat to melt the sugar and butter. Cool and pour into wide mouth Mason jar with lids. If freezing, be sure to leave 1-inch space from top when filling.
  • Step 2
    Note: If you don't have super fine sugar, use regular granulater sugar and pulse it in a blender- 1 cup at a time. Pulse the powdered milk too.
