I love jams, especially fig jam. This is a lovely alternative to the orange fig jam I usually enjoy. I hope that you will enjoy this quick and easy to make treat.

Ingredients For fig jam

  • 3 large fresh figs, cleaned, ends removed, coarsley chopped
  • 1 cup honey, wildflower or your favorite
  • 1 small lemon, juiced, zest thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup blanched almonds, coarsely chopped
  • 1 tsp fresh ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 vanilla bean, scraped for seeds

How To Make fig jam

  • 1
    Into a large pot add the figs, honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, ground cinnamon, salt and vanilla bean seeds: bring to a boil.

    Reduce the heat and simmer 1 hour, stir frequently while simmering.

    When the jam has thickened add in the nuts and continue to simmer for 10 - 20 minutes longer.

    Once the marmalade has cooled pour into a sterilized jar.
