Ingredients
- 8 medium whole oranges, unpeeled
- 5 cups sugar
- 3 cups water
- 1 1/4 cups vinegar
- 24 - whole cloves
- 2 sticks cinnamon
How To Make sweet-tart orange slices

Step 1Select oranges with unblemished skins. Simmer whole oranges in enough water to cover, simmer until tender, about 20 minutes.

Step 2Drain, cool and slice fairly thin

Step 3Combine sugar, water, and spices. Bring to a boil. Add the orange slices and simmer for 20 minutes, remove cinnamon sticks

Step 4Spoon orange slices into 6 hot pint jars. Pour on cooking liquid to cover.

Step 5Place 2 or 3 cloves from liquid in each jar. Seal and refrigerate. Makes 6 pints
