If you like chow chow you will like this Pear Relish. Comes from my dads Uncle. This recipe is for time after time

yield Makes 15 pints

Ingredients

  • 1 gallon hard pears peeled cored and diced
  • 1/2 gallon onions diced and soaked in1 cup pickling salt 1 hour drained and rinsed
  • 14 medium size bell peppers 7 green 7 red
  • 25 - bird eye peppers
  • 1 quart cider vinegar
  • 1 medium bottle prepared mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoons turmiric

How To Make pear relish

  • Step 1
    Grind pears, onions, and peppers and place in a large pot with other ingredients. Bring to a boil stirring often about 25 minute
  • Step 2
    Start filling clean sterilized jars and seal. Makes 15 pints. Wonderful on meats, roast steak ect. Alot like chow chow
  • Step 3
    NOTE: BIRD EYE PEPPERS IS A HEIRLOOM HOT CHILI PEPPER.
