Seven Layer Salad the Kitty way

There are dozens of recipes out there for 7 layer salad and you can put just about anything in them, but this is my take on it and the dressing is very simple too

  • 6 slice
    bacon, fried, drained, and crumbled
  • 1
    large head iceberg lettuce
  • 1
    red onion, sliced thin
  • 1 pkg
    frozen peas, thawed
  • 1 3/4 c
    shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1
    cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1 1/2 pt
    grape tomatoes, halved

  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
    white vinegar
  • ·
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Seven Layer Salad the Kitty way


  1. Fry bacon over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain on paper towels, let cool and crumble
  2. Rinse, dry and chop lettuce
  3. Place chopped lettuce in the bottom of a large clear glass bowl
  4. Run warm water over frozen pes in a colander to remove ice, drain and set aside
  5. Top lettuce with layers of each of the following salad ingredients in any order desired
  6. Whisk dressing ingredients together then spoon over top salad
  7. Chill covered until serving time
