Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus, tough ends removed
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt, or as needed
  • 2 quarts boiling water

  • Step 1
    Remove the tough ends of the spears; discard them
  • Step 2
    Add some coarse sea salt to water and bring it to a boil
  • Step 3
    Add asparagus and set the timer for 2:30 to 3 minutes
  • Step 4
    Remove them using a slotted spoon and plunge them in an ice water bath. Leave them there until cool off.
  • Step 5
    Drain the asparagus and proceed with your recipe.
