I am absolutely hooked on this extremely wholesome, natural and pure organic whipped body butter. Softens and moisturizes even the driest skin. I keep a jar of this whipped body butter in peppermint on my nightstand and use it every night on my hands, face, arms and neck. The soothing peppermint scent always puts me right to sleep. Feel free to use any scent that appeals to you. Almond and vanilla are really lovely, or choose one of hundreds of essential oils available. Great to give as gifts for both men and women. My husband uses this after shaving, at bedtime and at the office. =)

Ingredients For all natural creamy, whipped body butter (easy)

  • 1
cup coconut oil, room temperature (solid, found in the cooking oil isle at your favorite grocery store)
  • 1
tsp. sweet almond oil or vitamin e oil (found in the vitamin aisle)
  • a few drops of your favorite essential oil, optional but very nice

How To Make all natural creamy, whipped body butter (easy)

  • 1
Place coconut oil in a medium mixing bowl. I use my KitchenAid stand mixer set on speed 6 or 8. Add 1 tsp. sweet almond oil and a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
  • 2
Whip at a fairly high speed for 10 minutes, stopping to scrape sides of bowl every few minutes. Resulting whipped body butter should be light and fluffy and free from lumps. The finished product will have the consistency of shaving cream.

Place a drop or two on the back of your hand and check for fragrance. Please remember that essential oils are very potent and a little goes a very long way. If you would like more fragrance, add a drop or two and whip for another minute until you reach the scent that's perfect for you.

A few notes about body butter: Body butter is a little oilier than standard hand lotion, making it wonderful to soothe even very dry skin. In this wonderful whipped form, it melts and absorbs quickly the minute it touches the skin. Coconut oil has a melting point of somewhere between 76-80 degrees. If your home is warmer than that, like in the summertime, simply place in the fridge for a soothing and cooling after sun treat for your skin. It will remain fluffy and light, just as in the picture, unless it reaches 76-80 degrees.
