Ingredients

  • 8 corn tortillas
  • canola oil for frying
  • 1 pound (whatever meat your prefer) ground beef, pulled or diced beef, pork, chicken, fish, seafood, etc.
  • 1 can green chilis
  • TOPPING SUGGESTIONS
  • shredded cheese
  • shredded lettuce
  • diced tomato
  • taco sauce
  • sour cream
  • salsa
  • chopped cilantro
  • sliced black olives
  • guacamole or diced avocado
  • sliced green onions
  • diced red or white onions
  • cheese sauce or queso sauce

How To Make easy, tasty tostadas

  • Step 1
    In a deep skillet, heat about an inch or so of canola oil over medium high heat. Fry tortilla shells flat, until golden brown. Place shells on wire rack over a jelly roll pan to drain and keep warm in a 170 degree oven while you prepare the rest of your meal.
  • Step 2
    In a medium skillet, heat meat over medium heat with green chilis (undrained) until liquid cooks off and meat is completely cooked (and or heated through)
  • Step 3
    Layer meat over crispy tortillas and top with any topping ingredients you like!
  • Step 4
    Serve with any choice of rice, beans and/or corn on the side.
