This was my Grandma Phillips recipe. When she needed to fill in the budget gap she made this dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups macaroni cooked
  • 4 - large green peppers
  • 1/2 pound country sausage
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chives chopped
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese grated

How To Make baked peppers with macaroni and sausage

  • Step 1
    Cut away the tops of peppers and remove the seeds and fibers. Parboil for 5 minutes, drain, and cover with cold water.
  • Step 2
    Saute sausage, crumbling as it cooks, pour off excess fat, mix with drained macarone and chili sauce.
  • Step 3
    Drain peppers, and fill with the sausage mixture, place in a casserol dish and cover with grated cheese and chopped chives.
  • Step 4
    Pour 1/2 cup of water around peppers abd bake in a medium oven ( 350 ) until well heated and as brown on top as you like them.
