This was my Grandma Phillips recipe. When she needed to fill in the budget gap she made this dish.

macaroni cooked
4
large green peppers
1/2 lb
country sausage
2 Tbsp
chili sauce
1 tsp
chives chopped
3/4 c
parmesan cheese grated

How to Make Baked Peppers with Macaroni and Sausage

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cut away the tops of peppers and remove the seeds and fibers. Parboil for 5 minutes, drain, and cover with cold water.
  • 2Saute sausage, crumbling as it cooks, pour off excess fat, mix with drained macarone and chili sauce.
  • 3Drain peppers, and fill with the sausage mixture, place in a casserol dish and cover with grated cheese and chopped chives.
  • 4Pour 1/2 cup of water around peppers abd bake in a medium oven ( 350 ) until well heated and as brown on top as you like them.
