There is something so special about dill and green peas, the flavor of this stew is memorable.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh green peas, cleaned
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 medium carrots, chopped
  • 2 medium potatoe, cut into chunks
  • 4 medium fresh tomatoes, diced
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt, fresh ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, fresh ground
  • 4 cups hot water
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

How To Make pea stew

  • Step 1
    Turn the heat on medium high and saute the onion in olive oil, until they are translucent.
  • Step 2
    Next add the carrots and the tomatoes, mix well. When it starts to boil lower the temperature to medium and add the peas and potatoes.
  • Step 3
    Now add the water, dill, salt & pepper and paprika, making sure to stir well. Cover once it starts to boil, then lower the temperature to medium low and simmer for 40 - 50 minutes. Add more water if necessary. The vegetables are soft when done.
  • Step 4
    Serve hot with a nice loaf of bread.
