- 1 package black-eyed peas (1 lb)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 quart water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- 1 stalk celery
- HOW TO COOK
How To Make new years day black-eyed pea's

Step 1Get a large pan and soak 1 pound bag of black eyed peas overnight! Enough water to cover the top of beans; depends how soupy you want them.

Step 2After soaking overnight, remove from refrigerator and and put pan on stove with a medium heat.

Step 3Add 1 stalk finely chopped celery, salt and pepper

Step 4Add chicken broth (2 cans or one box) or home made

Step 5Bring to a boil and them allow them to simmer and serve with cornbread.
