Poached Shrimp

This is a very quick way to make shrimp and oh so tasty. I served with some steamed green beans and my forbidden rice with a twist. The rice recipe is also posted here.

Ingredients

1 lb
jumbo shrimp (10-15 count)
2 Tbsp
old bay seasoning
1 Tbsp
cayenne pepper
1 Tbsp
ancho chili powder
1 can(s)
beer
1
lemon
water
2 Tbsp
butter

How to Make Poached Shrimp

Step-by-Step

  • 1De vain shrimp but leave in shell
  • 2Add water, beer, seasonings, and thinly sliced lemon to a deep skillet. Bring to a boil the reduce to a low simmer
  • 3Add shrimp and let poach 3-5 minutes until pink
  • 4Serve with lemon and melted butter. I like to add a bit of garlic to my butter ( optional)
