poached shrimp

This is a very quick way to make shrimp and oh so tasty. I served with some steamed green beans and my forbidden rice with a twist. The rice recipe is also posted here.

Ingredients For poached shrimp

  • 1 lb
    jumbo shrimp (10-15 count)
  • 2 Tbsp
    old bay seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp
    cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbsp
    ancho chili powder
  • 1 can
    beer
  • 1
    lemon
  • water
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

How To Make poached shrimp

  • 1
    De-vein shrimp but leave in shell
  • 2
    Add water, beer, seasonings, and thinly sliced lemon to a deep skillet. Bring to a boil the reduce to a low simmer

    Add shrimp and let poach 3-5 minutes until pink
  • 4
    Serve with lemon and melted butter. I like to add a bit of garlic to my butter ( optional)
