I adore learning how to make anything from scratch and also the cheapest money saving ways.In this one you do not have to buy a culture I have figured it out for you by studying long and hard to dig underneath old time ways.Sorry I forgot where I found this tip.

prep time 5 Min
cook time
method No-Cook or Other
yield 2 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pint buttermilk
  • 3 cups milk

How To Make homemade buttermilk

  • Step 1
Clean out an ice tray and pour buttermilk into it and freeze. When frozen just pop out cubes and store in a good freezer baggie.
  • Step 2
Now that you have made your culture! You are ready to start.Cubes will keep in freezer 6 months.
  • Step 3
Pour 3 cups of milk into a tupperware container and add 4 ice cubes of culture.Put cover on container and shake.
  • Step 4
Let this sit out on counter for 3 days. Buttermilk acid will not let this spoil! So it's ok.When thick put in fridge to cool and drink.YUM YUM GOOD!
