basic organic milk kefir (useing kefir grains)
I was introduce to this drink about 3 year ago. I was having trouble with my skin. I friend asked if I ever heard of probiotics. He then introduced me to " what he called" the ULTIMATE PROBIOTIC. Needless to say, everything cleared, and a lot of other problem got better. Store bought Kefir is good, but filled with sugar and preservatives. Did I mention "IT CURVES THE APPETITE". After purchasing my own grains off the Internet, I wanted to share the recipe with you. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients
- THIS RECIPE IS FOR MILK KEFIR GRAINS. TASTE IS ALWAYS BETTER WITH WHOLE ORGANIC MILK WHICH WILL BETTER RECONSTITUTES GRAINS AFTER USE.
- - kefir grains. ( purchased mine on ebay)
- - whole organic milk ( you can also use 2% or, goat milk)
- NO METAL
- - plastic screen strainer (with small screen mash )
- - plastic or silicone spoon or spatula
- - glass jars w/lids of storing
- - glass bowl of straining liquid
- IM SORRY, IT'S TIME FOR A KEFIR BREAK. I'LL BE RIGHT BACK !
How To Make basic organic milk kefir (useing kefir grains)

Step 1When first recieving your grains, rinse them in a plastic strainer under cold water (for a few seconds)

Step 2Place (aprox. 1 Teaspoon) in your rinsed grains in the bottom of you clean glass jars, Fill jars with your Whole Organic Milk, leaving room at top for expantion of fermenting gases.

Step 3Gently lay lids of jar on top ( DO NOT tighten lid on jar ) fementing gases most be able to escape.

Step 4Leave in dark, warm area for 24-48 hours. For first batch 48 hours "may" be best. "I used the cupboard above stove".

Step 5* Kefir should have a yogurt consistency. "IT'S READY ! STIR, with non-metal spoon

Step 6STORAGE OF KEFIR Over a glass bowl, strain Kefir through Plastic strainer, carefully moving grains until all liquid is gatered in bowl.

Step 7Return grains to the jars you just emptied, (no need to wash ) Washing is done "once a week" YES I SAID ONCE A WEEK ! * Repeat step "2" through "4", for next batch to ferment

Step 8Femented Kefir liquid in bowl, should be placed in glass container. Place in refrigerator, until ready to drink. ENJOY!!! "To your health"

Step 9Note: FYI Grains will grow the more you nourish them with good Whole Organic Milk. You may feel as though they are taking over. DO NOT TRASH THEM ! To slow down the prodution of your grains (or) to keep them heathy, (Place in jar and cover with milk. Place in refrigerator until ready to use or share. ***I and a few friends will be posting recipes using these wonderful grains. Your health is about to change.
