This is my very favorite pumpkin pie mixture.Adding the black pepper is an old old timer's trick and well worth it in the added taste.People can never guess what that special taste is.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 can carnation evaporated milk
  • 1 can libby's 100% pure pumpkin
  • 1 large 4 cup deep dish pie shell
  • 1 can whipped cream (optional)

How To Make libby's famous pumpkin pie

  • Step 1
    You could just turn this into two pies in regular sized pie shells.I do. Mix sugar--cinnamon--ginger--cloves--pepper--salt in large bowl.
  • Step 2
    Stir in pumpkin---eggs---milk.Mix well and pour into two regular pie shells and bake 350 degrees for 45--60 minutes.
  • Step 3
    You will know its done when it is firm on top.
