Ingredients
- 5 ounces dark chocolate
- 10 tablespoons butter,usalted
- 5 large eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 11/4 cups almond meal
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds
- 1 ounce shredded chocolate
- - for the icing:
- 3 ounces dark chocolate
- 4 tablespoons butter
How To Make chocolate almond cake for your valentine

Step 1Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler.Let it cool for a bit.

Step 2In a mixer, beat egg yolks and the sugar until fluffy.Mix the cooled chocolate into the sugar/ egg yolk mixture.

Step 3Add the almond meal,sliced almonds and shredded chocolate.

Step 4In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until they form peaks.Add to the almond mixture. Gently mix in just to combine.

Step 5Pour dough into a 9 inch spring form pan.Bake 40-45 minutes in 350 F oven.

Step 6Melt the icing ingredients and spread on top of cool cake.Decorate with additional almonds.
