    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 tsp
    vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter

    Put all in heavy sauce pan.Bring to a boil.Stirring until sugar has melted then do not stir.

    Reduce heat to where it steadily boils.Boil until brittle test stage this is when you have a cup of ice water and drop by spoon a little bit of candy into the cup and it becomes hard and brittle to the touch when you pick it up out of the cup,

    Butter an 8x8 pan and pour this into the pan.When partially cool--score it with a knife.When completely cool remove from pan and break into pieces.
