Ingredients
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup corn syrup, light
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large egg whites
- 2 tablespoons water
How To Make mom's white mountain icing

Step 1Whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, and water in a small saucepan.

Step 2Stirring occasionally, bring the mixture to 242 degrees F over medium heat.

Step 3Meanwhile, beat the egg whites into stiff peaks.

Step 4Once the hot mixture has reached 242 degrees F, pour it in a very thin, but steady, stream into the egg whites with the mixer running. Beat until the mixture is thick, fluffy and glossy. Beat in the vanilla.
