Ingredients
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- - 2-3 very ripe bananas
- 3 - eggs
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3/4 cup walnuts or pecans
How To Make mom"s banana bread recipe

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2With a electric mixer beat together sugar and butter until creamy.

Step 3Add bananas until combined about 30 seconds.

Step 4Add slightly beaten eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk and mix until combined about 30 seconds.

Step 5In a large bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger sift ingredients together and add to wet ingredients mix until combined

Step 6Stir in nuts by hand and pour into well greased 9 by 5 bread pan or 4 mini loaf pan's.

Step 7For 9 by 5 loaf pan bake 55 to 60 minutes. For 4 mini loaf pan's bake 40 to 45 minutes.

Step 8The loaves should be dark golden brown and dry to the touch. A toothpick should come out clean when inserted into the center.
