This is another of my Grandmas's recipes. Home made bread was a must in the 40's, we lived on a farm and only went to town once a month.

Ingredients

  • 1 - yeast, cake
  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 tablespoons shorteing
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup milk ( scalded )
  • 2 - egg yolks
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups sifted flour

How To Make grandma delleplain yeast rolls

  • Step 1
    Soften yeast in lukewarm water,
  • Step 2
    Add shortening, sugar, and salt to milk. Cool milk to luckwarm and add yeast and beaten egg.
  • Step 3
    Stir in flour to make a soft dough, turn out onto a floured board and knead until smooth ( about 8-10 minutes )
  • Step 4
    Shape into rolls. Let stand until double in size bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes.
