How To Make sourdough pizza bread

  • Bread machine - Dough Cycle
    1
In the bread machine: Add milk, starter, sugar, salt, egg, butter basil, oregano, tomatoes, flour and yeast. Set it on the dough cycle.
  • Roll out the dough, press chopped pepperoni on top.
    2
After the dough cycle is finished, roll out on a floured surface into a large rectangle. I had to use more flour as my dough was too sticky....depending on the consistency of your starter, you may have to adjust.
  • Top with cheeses.
    3
Leave about 1/4" edge free of ingredients so you can pinch it together after rolling up. Gently push in the chopped pepperoni, top with Parmesan and mozzarella.
  • Roll up, seal, cover with plastic and allow to rise again.
    4
Roll up "jelly-roll" fashion and pinch the edges to seal. Tuck in the sides. Transfer to a baking dish and cover with an oiled piece of plastic wrap to rise again.
  • 5
Preheat the oven to 400 F while your bread is rising.
  • Wait 10-15 min if you can, and serve with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.
    6
Bake for 45 minutes or until done. Serve cooled with warm marinara or pizza sauce. OR...... You can do like I always did....get it out to the car and rip the loaf apart with your bare hands and wolf down a chunk in the parking lot.
