I've been in the kitchen ever since I can remember. I grew up working side by side with my mother, whipping up wonderful things for the family table. I enjoy gardening and pressure canning the fruits of our labor. Living in Alaska allows me to live somewhat of a unique, modified subsistence lifestyle with the numerous berries, moose and salmon available. In the interior of Alaska, we see about 6-7 months of winter, so I am a fan of soups and stews. I am also a teacher and enjoy cooking meals for the staff at my school.
