norma's favorite crab cakes

I had a Serf & Turf dinner for some friends and all asked me for the recipe of these. I some times add green onion, but prefer this dish either way. Sooooo Goooood! This is my own recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of your favorite thick mayonaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons whole-grain mutard
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 pounds cleaned lump crabmeat
  • 1 pound cleaned backfin / claw crabmeat
  • - lenon wedges as desired as an accompamment or a garnish

How To Make norma's favorite crab cakes

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Step 2
    Lightly oil a baking sheet
  • Step 3
    Whisk together mayonaise, sour cream, mustard and egg in a mixing bowl.
  • Step 4
    Gently fold in crab with a rubber spatula until just combined
  • Step 5
    Gently form mixture into twelve 1- inch thick cakes;place on cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Remove from oven and raise oven rack and turn on broiler setting. Place cakes under broiler for 2 - 3 minutes untill lightly brown.
  • Step 7
    Remove from broiler and let set for 5 minutes before serving.
  • Step 8
    Serve with your favorite sauce or eat plain.
