How To Make maple apple cider doughnuts..or mac doughnuts .lol

2 tsp. Vanilla ( pure only) 6 tsp.baking powder 2 tsp. Baking soda 1 tsp. Salt 2 tsp. Vietnamese cinnamon( trust me, when I say it s the good stuff, and well worth the cost..you'll never go back to ordinary cinnamon) . 8 ( heaping ) tbls.fresh nutmeg..( yes 8, and yes heaping) 1/3-1/2 cup apple cider..the really good kind.. 3 motts apple sauce cups. 6 1/2 c. Flour . Oil for frying .. ( I use all natural lard, yes, lard..lol..gives the best results)
  • 2
Combine ingredIents to make soft dough. Roll-Cut-fry.. 370-375°. 2-3 minutes per side.. For best results, use a deep cast iron skillet..

If you have enough maple syrup to make a cup, leave out the apple sauce .. If not? Then add it.. ( the apple sauce that is..lol).. you may find you need it..start with a 1/4 cup of cider, if you find you need it, then of course add it..you want a soft dough, but not overly wet, and of course, you don't want it dry.. This last time I made these, I actually refrigerated the dough overnight..( I don't usually do this), very hard to get out of bowl the next day..lol But definitely worth the effort..I actually think it was beneficial..but you don't need to do this..:) Good luck( a walk in the park, should be easy), and enjoy..:)
