2 crye flour
2 cwhite flour
3 clukewarm water
1 1/2 pkgdry yeast, not rapid rise
1/2 clukewarm water for yeast
1 1/2 Tbspcaraway seeds (optional)
How to Make German Rye Bread
- Mix 1/2 cup lukewarm water, sugar, salt and yeast together and let sit overnight.
- In the morning add the flour to the yeast. Mix well and let rise once. Knead down and let it rise again. Shape into loaves and place into greased pans or shape into rounds. Don't let the dough rise too long, about 45 minutes.
- Bake at 400 for 45 to 60 minutes.
